And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, who calls “Abba! Father!”

I have called you out of darkness and into the Light. I have put My Spirit in you and it cries out to Me. I am your Father and you are My child and nothing can separate you from My love.
Who are you? Whose are you? How do you know what your true identity is? Are you just a creature of the flesh? Or are you something more? A child of the living God?
God has chosen us from before the foundations of the world to be His children, to be conformed to the image of His Son. That is what Scripture says.
When we sin, we are acting out of our old nature. That’s not who we really are. We were created to be like Jesus. We were created to do the things that Jesus did.
What did Jesus do? He preached the Kingdom. He said repent and turn to God and be healed, delivered and set free. And so must we.
The world has betrayed us and that’s okay. I think we’re all waking up to the fact that apart from following Jesus, this whole place is a lost cause. You’ve got to look for the silver lining in all this chaos and suffering. What really matters is coming into focus.
What matters? Relationships.
Where is the abundant life found? In relationship with God. Think about it. We were sinners, lost and without hope. Yet, God loved us so much that He provided the way of salvation to us freely. Simply believe that Jesus is the Son of God and you will not taste death but inherit eternal life.
The Gospel is so simple that you need someone else to help you misunderstand it. It’s not about works. It’s not about being perfect. It’s not about our attempts to be righteous. It’s a free gift of God to a rebellious and undeserving people. It’s an invitation to call God your Father and to know Him intimately. It’s about opening the door of your heart and letting all the pain, sin, trauma and hurt drain out and letting the resurrection power of God flood in.
God’s given us Himself to live inside of us. We are temples of the Holy Spirit. God lives inside of you. His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God’s Son abides in you. You’ve become something different than what you once were. That’s the mystery of Christ in you, the hope of glory.
God cannot reject Himself. The gifts and calling of God are without repentance. That means He doesn’t go back on His promises. Everything that He has purposed for you will come to pass if you trust and obey.
What does it mean to be a child of God?
It means your heavenly Father, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, is looking out for you. In fact, He always has been, even when you were lost and far away, He was chasing you down.
God wants everyone to know Him. He wants to have a close, personal relationship with everybody. He is kind, humble and all-powerful, and He wants to be your friend. Pretty cool, eh?
Our minds play tricks on us. We think that when we do wrong, God wants to condemn us. That’s what the devil wants you to think. God wants to heal us, deliver us from the power of the evil one, restore us to right relationship with God. That’s why He sent Jesus to reveal His heart towards humanity and His power to save.
God’s saying you were created to be just like Me, in regards to love. The way that God loves is the way that we’re supposed to love. All the people around you probably don’t deserve your unconditional love and kindness, but give it to them anyway. That’s where the magic happens. People need to see God in action before their hearts will change.
Quit waiting for someone else to lead the way. Be the change that you want to see in the world. It never hurts to be kind. And a little kindness goes a long way.
His kindness leads us to repentance. When we realize He’s not trying to condemn us, He’s accepting us right where we’re at with no judgment, we can breathe again. We don’t have to hide. We don’t have to run anymore. Where could we possibly go to hide from an omnipresent God?
God knows your past. He loves you anyway. God knows your future, everyone of your days was written before it came to pass. God is with you right now in this present moment.
God existed before time began. God will continue to exist when time comes to an end. There will be a day that never turns to night. That will be the day when we live forever in the light of our Savior.
Do not give up. Keep hope alive. God can and will get you where you need to be. Right now is just a short season of suffering. Our hope and our home is forever with our king, King Jesus.
