“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
Matthew 5:8-9 ESV
If you want to know how to become a true Christian, read and study the words of Jesus recorded in Matthew 5, 6 and 7, also known as the Sermon on the Mount. If you want to be a true Christian, put those words into practice. Meditate upon them day and night. Conform your lifestyle to what Jesus preached.
Walk in the Garden. What does that mean? Walk in uninterrupted fellowship and communion with the Spirit of the Living God.
I think that’s all I have to say about that.
Believers are not Christians until they are fully mature in Christ. Which of us was born fully mature? Not even sweet baby Jesus, who was Lord at His birth. Something to think about.
This time of year, Christendom celebrates the birth of our Savior and Lord. God with us. When you get born again, the new birth, we rejoice daily, God in us. Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Christmas is great. Not the commercialization of a hijacked pagan festival, but the chance to cease from our worldly labors to be with friends and family and pause to remember how loving and relatable our God is. It’s the perfect time to be a peacemaker.
God has given us the ministry of reconciliation. That means we are reconciling people back to God. What does that mean? It means we restore folks to friendly relations with God. Of course, God already wants to be your friend, we’re the ones who are His enemies when we live according to the flesh instead of the spirit.
All of Creation is crying out for the manifestation of the sons of God. All of Creation is crying out for peacemakers. Peacemakers do the hard work of loving their neighbors enough to speak the truth in love. There’s nothing more loving than sharing the truth of Jesus with everyone you encounter.
Will you get persecuted? Eventually, if you’re walking faithfully with the Lord. The prince of this world hates the light. But you’d be surprised how open people are to being loved and forgiven. Preach how much God loves them. Then show them.
If you reject love, you reject God. That seems pretty foolish to me, but this world is a fool’s paradise. Don’t let that get you down. God is with you. If you’re Spirit filled, God is in you. There’s nothing to fear, but apathy. Complacency has dug its heels in among the religious crowd. They sit on their hands quietly and do nothing. Don’t be that way. Be brave. Be a peacemaker. Grow up and mature until you resemble your Father in Heaven. When people can see the image and likeness of God in your life, you’ll know you’re on the right track.
If I can do it, anyone can do it. All you need is faith. All you need to do is believe. Then put one foot in front of the other and walk by faith. Open your mouth and let the Spirit speak. Words of grace, peace, love and truth flow like water from an endless spring. Let your spring flow with sweet water, never bitter. Let your words be few. And let God do what only He can do.
Blessed are the peacemakers. Forgive those who recklessly and willfully sin against you. Nothing good comes from nursing a grudge. It only poisons your soul and pollutes everything that you do. Better to walk in freedom. Better to walk in the light. Give God the glory and rejoice tonight that God saw fit to choose you to be His hands and feet on this world.
Praise God in the highest. May His love endure forever in your heart and in your home. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
Rise up peacemakers. Rise up. The world is waiting for you to be the salt and light.
