Wait For The Fulfillment

And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”

Habakkuk 2:2‭-‬3 ESV

Are you waiting on the Lord? Has He told you of things to come but you’re not seeing it yet?

Don’t lose heart. He cannot break His word. Don’t try to make it happen. Wait for the fulfillment. God will bring it to pass. Wait for His hand to move in His timing. Tune your ear to His voice. Teach your heart to obey.

The prophetic promise of the Lord is that He will save those who place their trust in Him. Trusting in God is not a one time decision. It’s a daily commitment to follow the Spirit’s leading. His mercies are new every morning.

When we trust in the Lord, and do what He says, He uses us to accomplish His purposes. It’s not about us. It’s all about Him.

Life is like a huge tapestry. We’re looking at it from the other side. All we see are starts and stops. Threads overlapping. Ends tied off here and there. It seems like a random mess.

God is looking down from Heaven. He sees what we cannot. He is watching His beautiful masterpiece taking shape. Everything makes sense. Everything works together. We’re just one thread in the tapestry. God is weaving our stories together to tell His story to all humanity. Once that’s done, it is finished.

Perhaps you feel insignificant. How does my brief life make any difference? Does anything we do even matter?

It all matters. God cares about everyone. He cares about every bird, every flower, every living thing. He cares for them all because they are His Creation. He is the Author of life.

The God who created the universe cares about each one of us individually. He has a plan and a purpose for everyone. Trusting in God means we trust His plan even when we don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Even when we don’t know what our next step is.

He is a Good Father. He won’t break His word. If He said it, He will do it. That’s why we must have faith to endure. Whoever endures until the end will be saved. Don’t give up. Keep the faith.

There’s so much we could be doing. But what really needs to be done?

It’s time to recalibrate. It’s time once again for a course correction. If you are off from true North by even 1 degree on your moral compass, if you keep going, you’ll deviate further and further off course from God’s plan for your life.

Don’t you see what God has given us? He is inviting us to stop our frenetic madness of worldly living. You can choose to continue in error, but you’ll find it more and more difficult and more and more unfulfilling. When our actions are not aligned with our values, there is anxiety and discomfort. Trust me, I know this from experience.

Foolish children, can’t you see? God doesn’t want us to be like the world. Working to spend ourselves into debt for things that perish. None of those things matter. God cares about souls not stuff. A rich life is one rich in good works and generosity. That’s what fills the heart with peace and joy. Read the Book of James for a refresher course.

I would say quit lamenting what has been lost. Don’t look back. Look up. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. This race is not won by the swift. It’s won by the faithful. It’s won by the one who walks. The one who walks with the Lord will be saved. Not the one who merely professes faith but does not obey. If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

We don’t need to compare ourselves with others. We could quickly deceive ourselves that we’re doing better or worse than we are. Jesus is the standard. He will lead us into holiness through sanctification by fire.

Step by step, day by day, it’s a walk of faith. And it’s good to stop once in awhile and listen. Truly listen for the voice of the Lord. He will lead us, He will guide us. But only if we’re willing. Only if we’re obedient to His voice. His sheep know His voice.

Everything He promised will come to pass. Be patient. Don’t worry. Relax and enjoy the ride. God will be with you every step of the way.

He is inviting you into a deeper relationship of trust with Him. He wants to share His thoughts with you. He wants to reassure you that He’s still in control and nothing catches Him by surprise.

Can you trust God? Yes. He will never leave you nor forsake you. It’s time to return to the Lord. It’s time to serve Him wholeheartedly. It’s time to get rid of the sins that slow us down.

This is a great day. This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

May the Lord speak to you this day. May you recognize His voice and obey. Be blessed in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

Lamentations 3:25‭-‬26 ESV
