Vision Correction

“For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother, and sister, and mother.”

Matthew 12:50 NASB2020

As believers, as members of God’s forever family, we need to be on the same page as our heavenly Father. He has a plan. He has a purpose. Our job is to submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit, and in the power of the Holy Spirit, obey our Master.

God initiates, we respond. God speaks, we obey. Jesus modeled this relationship with the Father for us by only doing what the Father did and only saying what the Father said. Jesus and the Father are One.

We have the Holy Spirit. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in us. Greater is He that is within us than he who is in the world.

I see a couple things that need to take place for the Church to get back on track. First, believers need to be reminded of their responsibility and their authority. In other words, make disciples. Second, they need to be sent out into the harvest.

What is the responsibility of the believer? Obey God. Jesus Christ is Lord. That means He is the highest authority. We need to teach people how to have a real relationship with God where they know how to trust, listen and obey.

“Teach them to recognize My voice and implore them to obey Me.”

What is the authority of the believer? To cast out demons and heal the sick. If we taught all the disciples to do that and then sent them out, there would be no question to the watching world that God is real and the Kingdom is at hand. I see this happening everyday in my small circle of fellow disciples.

Opportunities are everywhere and they are increasing everyday. If we simply did what Jesus said to do, revival would be the evidence of our obedience.

Love and obey God. Preach the Gospel. Make disciples. That’s what every disciple should be equipped to do. Don’t know where to start? Consider Doing What Jesus Did. If it worked for me and my friends, it can work for you.

Father God, forgive us for chasing after worthless things. Restore us to right relationship with You. Speak, Your servants are listening. Give us hearts to obey You. Amen.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28‭-‬30 NASB2020
