Accelerate Exponential Disciplemaking

The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful people who will be able to teach others also.

2 Timothy 2:2 NASB2020

Pass it on. Whatever the Lord is teaching you, share it with others who have a heart for it and encourage them to teach others as well. Unless we have the vision to make reproducing disciples, we labor in vain, we tarry in error.

There is no shortage of research, case studies, books and organizations that champion the cause of disciple making movements. Unless we have skin in the game, all that knowledge and insight lays dormant in a world lost in sin.

What the world needs now is practitioners. Practicing disciples of Jesus. Disciples that make disciples that make disciples. Once you get the ball rolling, it’s like a snowball that turns into an avalanche. It cannot be stopped.

Once the first wave hits, it only picks up more power and more reach. Each successive generation of disciples grows in number exponentially. How many disciples are you mentoring? 1, 3, 12, 30, 60, 100? How many are they mentoring? Do the math. Spread the wealth.

Sure, not everyone is going to want to follow Jesus, but there are more than enough that are willing to but no one is sharing the Good News with them and mentoring them in their personal relationship with their Creator God.

Recently, the Lord spoke to a friend of mine that I’ve been helping learn what it means to be a disciple. What did the Lord say to him in his private prayer time? “Make disciples.”

God is bringing all the pieces of the puzzle together. We just need to be faithful to play the cards we’re dealt.

Can you read the Bible? Can you pray? Can you listen to the Holy Spirit? Do you love people? Are you willing to share with others? Are you willing to obey the Lord? Do you know how to have a conversation? If you answered yes to all those questions then you’re ready to make disciples.

Every move of God is sovereign. We can’t force His hand. But we can be obedient. Obedience precedes revival. Revival precedes awakening. A Church on fire cannot be hidden.

Focus on the things that matter and discard the rest. Focus on obeying God’s will. He will take care of the results. Your job is to humble yourself, listen to the Holy Spirit and obey Him. It’s that simple. Then, go and teach others to do likewise.

I ask for your prayers as we endeavor to accelerate exponential disciplemaking in our region. There are over 2.5 million people in our metro area and the majority are far from Jesus. Pray that the Lord sends more workers into His harvest. Pray that we train up workers who are fully equipped to go and make disciples. Pray that the Lord continues to supply for all our needs.

If you would like to become a member of a prayer team specifically praying for this ministry, please email me or use the contact form to let me know. We greatly appreciate your prayers!

The Lord bless you and keep you. Amen.

After all, who is Apollos? Who is Paul? We are only God’s servants through whom you believed the Good News. Each of us did the work the Lord gave us. I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow. It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow. The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building.

1 Corinthians 3:5‭-‬9 NLT
