But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.2 Timothy 3:14-15 ESV
Last year, the Spirit of the Lord told me to “focus on disciplemaking.”
So that’s what I did.
The simplicity of disciplemaking relationships is deceptive. They hold all the relational glue required to change the world, one soul at a time.
What a journey it has been. God has opened up doors of opportunity for me to learn from other practitioners of the faith that have shared teachings, trainings and methods that I was unaware of. I’m just getting started but my confidence in God’s ability to transform lives through Christ centered relationships has never been stronger. It keeps growing everyday.
Disciplemaking is the movement and unselfish love is the fuel. For those of us who were not raised in the faith, God is sending His servants as mentors to the next generation of believers who will walk in obedience to the faith. Learn from those who do the will of God.
I’ve tasted and seen that disciplemaking works. Anyone can do it. All it takes is a willingness to obey God’s Word and a heart that loves others as themselves. Grace abounds to those who humbly submit to the will of the Lord.
What is God’s will? Let’s find out together in the Bible. Let’s read it together and discuss what it means and how we can apply it to our daily lives. Can you do that? Are you willing to do that with one other person? Then you’re ready to start making disciples.
It’s a discovery process. We learn as we go. We learn together. The Holy Spirit is our teacher. To God be the glory.
We look forward to sharing more stories and more teachings from more authors in the weeks and months ahead. I’m just one voice. Every voice matters. We’ll be blessed to hear from others who are walking the disciplemaking adventure soon. I know you’ll be blessed by their insight and experience. Subscribe today to make sure you don’t miss anything.
Walking with King Jesus into the harvest field with faithful friends is the only way to truly live the abundant life. May God give you fellow adventurers to share the journey of faith with as we look forward to that great day when we hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Father in Heaven, give us a vision for what it means to be a disciple and to make disciples. Let the love of God guide us as missionaries of mercy who deliver the Good News to those who need it most. Equip us for the task at hand. Lead us and guide us, O God, to be Your faithful sons and daughters who love and obey their King. Amen.
And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”Matthew 9:35-38 ESV
