Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”Matthew 22:37-40 NLT
Are you willing to love the One who loved you first? Haven’t you heard? His mystery is grace towards sinners. For some reason He loves us. He loves us so much He’s willing to sacrifice His own life to save us. His love rescues us. He is Christ the Lord.
Are you willing to love your neighbor as yourself? Haven’t you heard? We’re all the same. We’re human and we need to be loved to reach our potential. It’s a mystery how it works, but loving your neighbor unselfishly, wanting what’s best for them, brings out the best in all of us.
We all know the Scriptures but do we live them? When we fall short what do we do? Do we excuse our sin? Or do we confess it?
When we agree with God’s truth, we abide in Christ. When we disagree with God’s truth, we are in error and we live in sin.
Sin is disobedience. Sin is knowing the right thing to do and not doing it. We must love like Jesus does. His Spirit will give you the strength. You only need to be willing.
Are you willing to love? That is the question. Are you willing to follow Jesus? Jesus is love personified. If you follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, the leading of love, you will catch people for the Kingdom. God’s love is irresistible. It melts the hearts of hardened sinners. What do sinners need? They need someone to speak the truth in love. They need to be loved into the Kingdom.
Go and sin no more. Go and love more. It’s easy. Let go of judgment and let God lead you in His love. Love forgives, because we all know we all need forgiveness. We’re no better than anyone else. We’ve all fallen short. We all need grace.
Who is going to be the brave one? Who is going to lay down their pride and obey the Lord’s commandments? Who is willing to love like Jesus?
May the God of Heaven and Earth shed His love abroad in your heart today. Won’t you pray? He will answer, if you’re willing.
God, teach me to love like You do. Reveal Your love to me. Help me to know Your love for me is unshakeable and everlasting. Give me the confidence and boldness to walk in your love towards those around me. God, I am willing. Show me the way. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
“Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.”Matthew 7:12 NLT
