For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7 NLT
Many streams feed into a river. Once in the river, the water that was in the stream is no longer a stream, it is part of the river. So it is with various flavors of Christian teachings.
Teachings on obedience based discipleship and teachings about Holy Spirit led and Holy Spirit empowered living will merge into a unified expression of holy and faithful living. I don’t know what the name for it will be. I will simply call it keeping in step with the Spirit.
Jesus lived a life of perfect obedience to the will of the Father. He fulfilled the Law and transcended the Law. The will of the Father is beyond us keeping the Law. He wants us to walk with Him, to be united with Him in Spirit. The Law has been abolished. The Holy Spirit has been given. Walk with Him, daily. That is what it means to be a Christian.
The new has come. The old is passing away. You don’t need to run a non-profit to make disciples. You don’t need a building to make disciples. You don’t need a program to make disciples. You simply need to love God, love people, speak the truth in love and fellowship with one another.
How did Jesus make disciples? Go and do likewise. Leave the things that are distracting you from walking with God. You’ll be thankful when you realize that being enslaved to man made traditions is foolishness.
There is only One Church. Quit dividing and merge ahead into the Kingdom of God. To God be the glory. Amen.
Through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you.
