What I Need Is Found In Christ

God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

Matthew 5:3 NLT

We’re designed to be in fellowship. First, with our Creator. Then, with other followers of Jesus. The funny thing about fellowship is there is no assertion of rank or position, only love.

In the eyes of God, we’re all the same. We all have the same needs. Who among you is perfect? Only Jesus, and He took the form of a servant. I think we can learn from His example.

Humility is the key to the Kingdom and Jesus is the Door. Pride is the one human weakness that the devil exploits most frequently to separate us from our fellowship with God and His children.

Fellowship occurs when we are of one heart and one mind. As believers, we have the mind of Christ and God changes our hearts to become just like His. The separation we feel when we are disobedient to the heart and will of God should be the encouragement we need to confess our sin and become reunited with the presence of God.

What we need to always remember is the Gospel. That’s the Good News that God loves us and has provided a way for us to be reconciled with our Heavenly Father in spite of our moral failures. Pride would say, “I can fix it myself.”

The truth is, only Jesus can make things right. I like to say that there is freedom in surrender. Give up on your own way of doing things. Recognize God’s authority and submit to the Lordship of Christ. We can say that Jesus is King all we want but our actions reveal our hearts.

To be a real Christian, a true follower of Jesus, is to live life differently. You put God first. You know that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Worldly people will not understand why you don’t follow the ways of this fallen world but they will recognize something is pleasantly different about you. That’s the spiritual fruit that manifests as you abide in Christ.

Do not be fearful. If you believe, you are eternally safe. This life is just the proving ground to see if you truly believe and therefore inherit eternal life. Your faith must be tested to discover if it is genuine. Endure until your testing is over and then you will be mature and complete, needing nothing, except Christ in you.

Everything you need, everything I need, everything we all need is found in Christ. Jesus is the Head, we are the Body. When the Head and the Body are united, in constant fellowship, the hands of God move in great power and love. Believe and you will be saved. Walk in faith and reap a mighty harvest of souls for the Kingdom.

Father in Heaven, help us with our unbelief. Increase our faith. Increase our hunger and thirst for righteousness. Let the things of this world grow strangely dim. Let the things that tempted us in the past no longer hold any sway over us. Create in us a clean heart. Let Your love flow through our lives to the Body of believers and be extended to the lost world without judgment or reservation. Bring them in O God. Bring Your lost sons and daughters home. To God be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
