Brothers and sisters, in view of all we have just shared about God’s compassion, I encourage you to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, dedicated to God and pleasing to him. This kind of worship is appropriate for you.
Romans 12:1 GW
Life is a discovery process. Following Jesus is a lot like being led by a trail of breadcrumbs in the wilderness.
As I endeavor to be led by the Spirit in everything that I do, I hope to leave a trail of breadcrumbs for others to follow and discover the process, too.
Worship
That word has been coming to mind every time I find myself getting stuck mentally. I suffer from an overactive brain. It’s a lot like having an overactive bladder. It keeps making me want to get up and go.
When I can’t sit still and my thoughts are going in circles, the Lord whispers to me the answer to the question I’m not asking. What to do?
Worship
When we think of worship, usually we’re thinking about a particular song style that’s played in corporate gatherings of believers.
Worship, it’s those kinds of songs, right? Not the faster praise songs. No, no, no. You’re the song. Sing a new song to the Lord. Be yourself and worship the Lord in everything you do.
As a new creation, find your voice by listening to His. Sound a clear note. Get in tune with God. Tune your spirit to His. Submit your soul to your spirit. I’ll tell you more if I can explain it.
Worship
That’s the word of the day.
Everyday.
All day.
Amen.
Father in Heaven, we were made to worship You. And how worthy You are of worship! Lord, forgive us for getting all up in our heads and forgetting to put You first. Lord, we repent of idolatrous thinking. Be our highest priority again. Be our highest authority again. We want to hear from You directly. Open our ears to hear what You are saying. Open our hearts to believe it. Strengthen our wills to walk it out humbly. You are God and we worship You as such. Our lives, let them sing Your praises. Amen.
Through Jesus we should always bring God a sacrifice of praise, that is, words that acknowledge him. Don’t forget to do good things for others and to share what you have with them. These are the kinds of sacrifices that please God.
