‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants — men and women alike — and they will prophesy.
Acts of the Apostles 2:17-18 NLT
You know, as we reflect on 2023 and look to the future with renewed optimism and hope that the future could be brighter, I want to encourage you with the truth.
God’s love will never let you down. Human love will. Put your trust in God’s love. Make Him your source. Rely on Him. He is ready and able to meet every need. Just ask Him. Trust God. Forgive people. A proper understanding of the truth keeps us sane. There is grace for all of us.
I asked the Lord in prayer what 2024 was going to be all about. What will we remember 2024 for?
The Outpouring.
What is the outpouring? It’s the pouring out of His Spirit on all flesh. What does that mean? It means a continual baptism of the Spirit regardless of who you are.
Think about it. Does the sun only shine on the righteous? Does it not rain on the just and the unjust? Is God’s redemptive love not for everyone?
The spiritual revival of the Church is at hand. It looks nothing like religious leaders would like, but that’s okay. Our God is not a religious cult leader. He’s a loving Father.
The true Church is not a business. It’s not an institution. It doesn’t exist on a piece of paper as a legal entity. It is not made by human hands. It is not made from dead wood or bricks and mud.
The Church is alive and the Church is God’s People who are being led by God’s Spirit.
You may be saying, what about the unbelievers? Why would God pour out His Spirit on them? God’s kindness leads us to repentance. He’s a good God.
We will bring in the lost sheep of Israel when we walk in love with each other and toward the lost and broken world.
Return to your first love.
Father in Heaven, let Your will be done in our lives this day and everyday. Give us obedient hearts that are quick to obey the will of God to love others in radical and unconventional ways. Pour out Your Spirit upon us. Wash away the lies of the enemy that have imprisoned us for too long. Let us be the salt and light of the world that You’ve called us to be. May we disperse from our holy huddles and go into all the world, making disciples wherever we go. The world needs the Church. Not the other way around. Let us serve while we’re still here. Lord, send and equip more workers into Your harvest. Amen.
I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!
John 14:12-14 NLT
