Remember what it says: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts as Israel did when they rebelled.”
Hebrews 3:15 NLT
Leaders lead by example and we teach what we know. This can be good or bad. We can be good examples and teach the truth or we can be bad examples and teach error.
How do you model living by faith? How do you teach someone to walk by faith?
Do you share a bunch of tasks and duties that we assume we’re supposed to be doing? Do all these things and you’ll be a “good Christian.”
That’s works based religion. Do this to become that. It’s dead and joyless.
Do you share your relationship with God? Do you model and teach relationship skills like submission and listening to the Holy Spirit?
How’s your relationship with God? Let’s talk about that. Let’s teach that in a 52 part series to keep them coming back. We got bills to pay. We need reliable consumers of our products and services.
God doesn’t want to “Christianize” the world you live in. He wants your heart. He wants your devotion. To Him. Not a system. Not a program. Not a denomination. Not a creed or statement of belief. To Him.
Repent.
The Kingdom of God is at hand.
Lord, deliver us from deceiving spirits that want to enslave us into religious systems instead of enjoying the freedom we have found in our relationship with You. Amen.
And who was it who rebelled against God, even though they heard his voice? Wasn’t it the people Moses led out of Egypt? And who made God angry for forty years? Wasn’t it the people who sinned, whose corpses lay in the wilderness? And to whom was God speaking when he took an oath that they would never enter his rest? Wasn’t it the people who disobeyed him? So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest.
Hebrews 3:16-19 NLT
