Be Careful

‭‭Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking. For if the people of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the earthly messenger, we will certainly not escape if we reject the One who speaks to us from heaven!
Hebrews‬ ‭12:25‬ ‭NLT‬‬

If we refuse to listen to the Holy Spirit, we are not obedient children of God and we will suffer greatly for our sin. Our sin creates a cascade of suffering for others. Go and sin no more.

‭‭Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.

Be careful to live a holy life. Simply hearing God’s Word is not enough. You must do what it says.

Be careful what you teach people. You answer to God for misleading those who are less mature in Christ.

What is God saying to you? Listen. Write it down. Act on it. The fruit of obedience is oneness with God.

Be careful that you do not fail to attain your full inheritance in Christ – the glory of God.

Father, forgive us for being careless, reckless even, with our lives and our words. Our lives are not our own. We did not create ourselves from the dust of the earth. We did not breathe the breath of life into our nostrils and become living souls. We cannot resurrect ourselves. God alone is in control of everything. We bow down and worship You, today. Teach us to number our days and not waste anymore on disobedience. Forgive us, Lord. Speak, your servants are listening. Amen.
