Overcome

‭‭Jesus replied to them, “Do you now believe? Behold, an hour is coming, and has already come, for you to be scattered, each to his own home, and to leave Me alone; and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

John‬ ‭16:31‭-‬33‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

Do you know who you are? How solid are you in your identity and calling? Has God given you the victory? Are you walking in power, love and a sound mind?

Use these questions to gauge your level of spiritual maturity.

The spiritual food we need depends on how mature in the Lord we are. I like to tell the men I’m mentoring to learn to cut your own steak.

We need daily manna. Do you prefer watered down milk being spit in your mouth that someone else got from someone else?

Me neither. I like to eat meat. I’m a carnivore. I’m an apex predator in the Kingdom of God. I hunt down and destroy the root causes of spiritual, emotional and physical sins. I’m cleaning house. And it begins with me. Some would say I’m a grown man. I would say I’ve only just begun to live.

I’m a generalist. A jack of all trades, a master of none. And nothing is my master, except the Lord God Almighty. My Swiss army knife approach to life means I’m always ready, except when I’m not.

We can all learn more. From God. From each other. We’re always learning. Always growing. Always improving day after day.

How?

We humble ourselves and pray like our lives and the lives of everyone we know depends on it.

The victory is ours. Christ already won the war. He has defeated hell and the grave. He made a public spectacle of the whole occasion. Never forget what He did for you.

He thinks you’re worth dying for. He already died for you. He has already been buried, resurrected and glorified. He is the prototype of what we’re becoming. Each and everyone of us who does not love our own lives unto death.

You know what I’m going to say, right?

Repent.

Read your Bible.

Ask the Holy Spirit to explain it to you.

Write down what He gives you in your journal or blog or whatever way you can to record the journey you’re on.

Get rid of your fear and go for it! We’ve only got one life to live. Why waste it?

Be an overcomer.

In the Presence of God and all that is holy, I implore you, live a life which proves God has called you.

There is no compromise with sin in the Kingdom of God.

Father in Heaven, we humble ourselves this day in Your Presence. We are nothing without You. We can do nothing without You. Fill us afresh today with wisdom, power and love to navigate today’s challenges with peace, love and grace in our hearts, in our thoughts, in our words and in our deeds. Just as You preordained us to walk in them. Thank You, God, that You’re always right on time. Amen and Amen.

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah has been born from God. Everyone who loves the Father also loves his children.

We know that we love God’s children when we love God by obeying his commandments.

To love God means that we obey his commandments. Obeying his commandments isn’t difficult because everyone who has been born from God has won the victory over the world. Our faith is what wins the victory over the world.

Who wins the victory over the world? Isn’t it the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
