It’s Yours!

‭Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Matthew‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭NASB2020‬‬

How do you know if your heart is pure?

To answer that question, we need to know what pure means.

‭‭Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

James‬ ‭1:27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Pure means undefiled. The world is the devil’s domain. If you have mixture in your heart, if you love the world and its ways, you are defiled. Ask God to forgive you for the sin of being double-minded. He’d like to do that.

So now what?

‭‭Never worry about anything. But in every situation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks. Then God’s peace, which goes beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your thoughts and emotions through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, keep your thoughts on whatever is right or deserves praise: things that are true, honorable, fair, pure, acceptable, or commendable.

Practice what you’ve learned and received from me, what you heard and saw me do. Then the God who gives this peace will be with you.

Philippians‬ ‭4:6‭-‬9‬ ‭GW‬‬

Our values determine our hearts. Our hearts determine our thoughts. Our thoughts determine our words. Our words determine our actions. Our actions determine our character. Our character determines our fate.

Do you want to reap goodness in this lifetime?

Purify your hearts. Ask God to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Do it everyday.

When we think we’re done, we’re finished.

If we remain humble and teachable, God continues to refine us. Don’t jump off the pottery wheel before the Lord has molded you into His image and likeness.

He discards those who disregard Him.

Return to the Lord. Let the Lord lead. Follow Jesus. Spread His love.

Keep your mind right and the rest will follow.

Get up all in your head, and there’s no rest for the wicked.

Father in Heaven, purify our hearts. Make us holy and pure and righteous, just like You. Father, help Your children grow up into the stature of the fullness of Christ. Amen.

‭‭Blessed are those whose thoughts are pure. They will see God.
