“I’m giving you a new commandment: Love each other in the same way that I have loved you. Everyone will know that you are my disciples because of your love for each other.”
John 13:34-35 GW
If you want to make disciples, you first must be a disciple.
Being precedes doing. Doing does not make us anything except tired.
Be fruitful and then multiply.
Be filled with the Spirit and abundant in spiritual fruit. Let your life be a testimony. Then share what the Lord’s doing in your life with others.
Making disciples starts at home. If you are married, learn to practice the love of God with each other. If you have children, do the same. If you’re single, the Lord has blessed you! Go make disciples outside. Find some fatherless people who need some love.
Making disciples is about fellowship. One mind, one heart. Christ at the center of it all.
Why is our nation falling apart? We’re focused on things that don’t matter and ignoring the people that do.
Love God. Love people. Start at home. Work your way outward. Across the street. Next door. Someday, you’ll be in another part of the world. And you may ask yourself, well, how did I get here? Same as it ever was. By loving like Jesus does.
Go inside and shut your door. Pray to your Father in secret, who sees in secret. The will of the Father starts with us returning to make things right at home. Pray for your family. Pray for your spouse. Pray for your children. Then, pray together.
The family is the unit of multiplication.
God’s family multiplies love.
Love does because love is who we are.
Don’t get caught up again in slavery to works. Just walk in love. That’s what Jesus does.
May the love of the Father be yours today. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
Jesus answered Peter, “You don’t know now what I’m doing. You will understand later.”
