For before John came, all the prophets and the law of Moses looked forward to this present time.
Matthew 11:13 NLT
The Old Testament records prophecies that were inspired by the Holy Spirit, spoken by righteous men of faith, written down by faithful scribes and taught in synagogues and the Temple of Solomon until it was destroyed.
The Old Testament prophesied that John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ would walk the Earth long before they were revealed to mortal men. We can take comfort in knowing that the prophecies were fulfilled.
That’s what makes our faith in Jesus so solid. For people with analytical minds, the evidence is irrefutable. Years ago, I did the work. I wanted to know for sure that the Bible proves that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Of course, at the time, I already knew that God was real and powerful because I had an encounter with Him that radically changed my life. In one day, I went from lost to found. I went from death to eternal life. I went from living in darkness to living in the Light.
Oh the joy I had found! The peace of God flooded my anxious soul. It’s good to remember the day that God the Father revealed Jesus Christ as Lord through the power of the Holy Spirit. We call those testimonies in our faith. They’re powerful. Someone’s story of encountering God is irrefutable. Their life’s forever changed, in the twinkling of an eye.
Share your testimony. Share it with believers to encourage each other and build up one another’s faith. Share it with pre-believers to encourage them to invite the Holy Spirit into their life.
I was taught that sharing your personal testimony of life before, the miracle moment, and life after is the greatest evangelistic tool in your arsenal.
The Gospel of course is important but people relate best to stories. That’s why Jesus taught using parables. The deeper truths of the mysteries of the Kingdom of God are better understood using natural metaphors that people naturally understand.
For example, God is your Father. If you are a human being reading this right now, it took a male and a female to create you. That’s God’s design. You had a father in the natural. Now, you have a spiritual Father, just like Jesus.
Jesus was born of a woman, a virgin. The Holy Spirit made Mary pregnant. So God is truly His Father.
When we believe in Jesus, by faith, as a gift from God, we become born again. We receive the Holy Spirit of God inside of us and a new life is created. We don’t even have to die to experience eternal and abundant life. We identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. Now, we have that resurrection life power living inside of us!
Everything you need is found in a relationship with God and His People. Everything. There is One True God and One True Church. Division is from the devil. Unity is in the Holy Spirit.
Have faith, my friends, the best is yet to come. God is speaking louder than before. My greatest challenge is simply slowing down, avoiding all distractions, humbling myself, and simply conversing with God throughout the day.
My greatest sin is pride, trusting in myself, my abilities, my talents, my experience, my wits. They say your greatest strength is your greatest weakness and your greatest weakness is your greatest strength. I’ll let you think about that one.
For now, all I can encourage you with is, seek the Lord while He still may be found. There will come a time, sooner than we think, when time runs out.
Father in Heaven, reveal Yourself to Your Chosen People. We ask that You would speak to them clearly and that they would understand and obey Your voice. We ask all this in the mighty Name of Jesus. Thank You in advance for answering our prayers. We give You all the glory. Amen!
And if you are willing to accept what I say, he is Elijah, the one the prophets said would come.
Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand!
