Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow — not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.
No power in the sky above or in the earth below —indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:35, 38-39 NLT
Nothing can separate us from the love of God. So why can’t we accept that?
Is it because we’re still trying to be righteous in our own effort? That would nullify the grace of God.
Is it because we had bad examples growing up that taught us that love was conditional based on our actions and behavior? That would nullify the grace of God.
Is it because life isn’t going the way we think it should? Do our circumstances indicate how much God loves us? That would nullify the grace of God.
You see, no matter what happens, God does not change. All of Creation is constantly changing. God is the Uncreated One.
When we place our faith, hope and trust in anything in Creation, we will be disappointed when it disappears.
There is only One who does not disappoint. His Name is Jesus.
Start with a firm foundation. Place all your hope, faith and trust in the God who loves you.
Look around. Where is unselfish love being displayed? That’s where God is working.
Where is selfish ambition being displayed? That’s the world.
Practice discernment. Flee from sin.
Love wins every time.
God loves you.
His grace is sufficient.
Whatever you’re facing will not separate you from the love of God. So why deny your true identity by sinning? Love one another.
Love one another.
Love one another.
Why? Because that’s what God does. And He lives inside of you. Quit denying your true identity in Christ. Live the Spirit directed life.
You were made to love and be loved.
Focus on that and you won’t go back into living in habitual sin.
Father in Heaven, forgive us for believing the lies of the enemy, the accuser of the Brethren. Shield our minds and our hearts from the lies that tell us we are undeserving of Your love. You chose to love us. God, You are love and You live in us. Let us honor God with our lives and love one another in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen.
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
