Out of the stump of David’s family will grow a shoot — yes, a new Branch bearing fruit from the old root.
And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on him — the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
He will delight in obeying the Lord. He will not judge by appearance nor make a decision based on hearsay.
He will give justice to the poor and make fair decisions for the exploited. The earth will shake at the force of his word, and one breath from his mouth will destroy the wicked.

How do you know if you are in Christ?
You delight in obeying the Lord. That’s what the Holy Spirit produces in people who have God’s Spirit living inside of them.
For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
Philippians 2:13 NLT
God leads those who belong to Him. He gives us the desire to please Him. He gives us the power to please Him. In a word, His Spirit works through us.
His grace is sufficient. You don’t have to muster up the desire to please God. You don’t have the power to please God in your own wisdom and strength.
The power of God comes when we surrender ourselves fully to obeying God. Our Master is in Heaven. We all answer to Him in the end.
Do you need wisdom? Do you need understanding? Do you need counsel? Do you need power? Do you need knowledge? Do you need the reverent fear of the Lord so that you’ll actually desire to obey Him?
Everything you need is found in God. He is the All-sufficient One. He is complete within Himself. Yet, He chose us for salvation at the end of the world from before the world began.
Rest in your relationship with God. He is your Sabbath. Your work is complete when you come to faith in Jesus. Then, the Holy Spirit’s work begins. Our job is to walk by faith in fellowship with God.
Trust, listen and obey. The Holy Spirit is at work. He’s calling the shots, not we ourselves.
I believe God is in complete control. Our appropriate response to His Lordship is to walk in humble obedience and do the will of the Lord as the Holy Spirit instructs us to.
Anything less would be uncivilized.
Father in Heaven, thank You for the grace You bestow on us everyday to rise up and shine for You. Your Spirit is the Light. Light us up, in the Name of Jesus, we pray. Amen!
