If you want to be effective and efficient, rely on the Holy Spirit.
The world is ending sooner than we think, or maybe not soon enough for some of us, but the urgency of our hour requires us to shed all the things that don’t work and focus on the one thing that does: walking in agreement with the Holy Spirit’s leading.
There’s no need to panic if you’re in Christ. In fact, I’m rejoicing all day long in spite of trials, testing, temptations and tribulations. It’s all just a sign of the times. It helps me focus.
I recently heard that the young adults group at the local church I worship at are fasting from media for 40 days. Honestly, that’s some of the most encouraging news I’ve heard recently.
Turn off your TV. Quit social media. Have real relationships with God and people. It will make a world of difference. There’s a loneliness epidemic out there and more screen time is not the cure. Positive social interactions are.
I’m back in the Word everyday and just doing what the Holy Spirit tells me to do (most of the time) and it’s much more fulfilling than being distracted by whatever you call that other stuff.
And you know what? Every time I ignore God’s counsel, I’m miserable. Obeying God = good. Disobeying God = foolishness. I’m tired of acting the fool. God didn’t create me to be like the world. He created me to be like Him.
That’s true for me and it’s true for you, too. God doesn’t play favorites.
Just do what God tells you to do. That’s my message. I teach people how to recognize God’s voice. It’s super simple. Takes 5 minutes. The hard part? Walking in obedience. I can’t do that for anybody except myself. I’m responsible for my walk with God and what I teach. As are you.

God, give us ears to hear and hearts to obey You. Amen.
