Brothers and Sisters

‭‭But as for you, do not be called Rabbi; for only One is your Teacher, and you are all brothers and sisters.

And do not call anyone on earth your father; for only One is your Father, He who is in heaven.

And do not be called leaders; for only One is your Leader, that is, Christ.

But the greatest of you shall be your servant.

Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled, and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.

Matthew 23:8-12 NASB2020‬‬

Disciples of Jesus are followers of Jesus. Followers of Jesus are all the same. They’re all unique. Yet, they all are united with God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ through the abiding Holy Spirit.

We are One Body of believers, with One Father, One Lord, One Spirit.

Jesus is the firstborn of many brethren. We’re all brothers and sisters in the Lord. God doesn’t have any grandchildren.

We’re all direct descendants of the Holy Spirit. There’s no rank or hierarchy in the Kingdom of God, only levels of maturity. Therefore, respect your elders, those who are mature in the Lord. Those who are walking in the agape love of Christ all the time.

Love is the measure of maturity in the Kingdom. Love like Jesus. Put down your idols and raise your holy hands to worship the Living God.

Christians are Christlike. Hypocrites are not. Christians walk in love, power and sound doctrine. Hypocrites do not. Christians are led by the Holy Spirit. Hypocrites, well you know the story.

Don’t despair. Repent.

Father in Heaven, forgive us for our hypocrisy and living lives of error and disobedience. We repent. We change the way we think and act today. We agree with the truth of Scripture. We agree that Jesus Christ is Lord and we are not. Teach us, Lord. Father us, Father. Lead us, Holy Spirit. We humble ourselves under Your mighty hand. God, be God. Lord, be our Lord, today and everyday. Holy Spirit, we choose to trust, listen and obey Your gentle leading of love. Father, have Your way with us, in Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.

‭‭For whoever does the will of God, this is My brother, and sister, and mother.
