God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.
Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away.
These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.
James 1:12-15 NLT
Patience is the ability to wait with joy. It’s a fruit of the Spirit.
Waiting on God is a full time job. It’s like being a server at a restaurant. God is seated at the table. You stand in faith. Don’t get distracted and wander off or your most important customer might not get the kind of service He expects.
When you know your customer is the best tipper in town, you joyfully provide the best service possible, even if that means waiting patiently to attend to their every whim.
Now, we don’t serve God because we expect something from Him, do we? We already have His Word. What more do we need? We already have the promise of eternal life. We just need to abide.
Walk with God.
Your reward is in Heaven. We don’t serve to get rewarded. We serve because we love.
A day’s wages is a day’s wages. Be satisfied with your wages. Be satisfied that your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
If you are tempted to serve for any other reason than love, that’s not God leading you. God cannot be tempted. The Christ in you cannot be tempted to sin. Your flesh can be tempted. The enemy can operate in our flesh. Our spirits are impervious to the enemy. We are born of an incorruptible seed – the Word of God.
Discerning the spirits is a skill that should to be practiced now more than ever. It’s also easier to discern now more than ever, in my humble opinion.
There are three voices in this world. The Divine, the carnal and the demonic. Which should we listen to? Which should we obey? Which leads where?
The Bible tunes our hearts and our minds to God’s heart and will. The better you know the written Word of God, the stronger your ability to recognize the voice of the Holy Spirit will be.
God’s not done with you yet. You’re just getting a new assignment. What worked in the past no longer works.
What works now has always worked. Trusting God. Listening to God. Obeying God. That has always worked.
Life in the Spirit has always been God’s way. God is Spirit. Those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. That’s not my recommendation, that’s God’s Word.
Return to Christ, Your King. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear. He always provides a way of escape – obedience to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Stand in victory. The world is defeated. Our faith overcomes the world. Victory is assured. Now, wait patiently until the Lord instructs you to do or say something. Practice makes perfect.
If you want to enjoy life to the fullest, I strongly recommend that you abide in the love of God.
Father in Heaven, forgive us of all of our sins. We renounce any agreement we’ve had with the flesh or the devil. We choose, as an act of our own free will, to forgive everyone who has sinned against us. We absolve them of their guilt. Make us clean. All of us. Give us pure hearts. All of us. We want to serve You with honest motives. In the Name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there.
Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.
Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.
