Everyone Will Know

‭‭“I’m giving you a new commandment: Love each other in the same way that I have loved you. Everyone will know that you are my disciples because of your love for each other.”

John 13:34-35 GW‬‬

Jesus lived the message He preached.

He demonstrated the Kingdom with power.

He called a most unlikely group of men to be His disciples and taught them His ways firsthand.

Then, He sent them out to practice what they were learning.

Finally, when they were ready, He told them to wait. They had the mission, but not the power to carry it out effectively long-term without His abiding Presence within them.

Now, we, as the Church of the Living God, born again of His Spirit, and baptized in the Holy Spirit, carry out the mission of God here on Earth until Our Savior King reappears to make all things right.

It’s a noble cause.

Our mission is to carry out God’s will. His will is that we make disciples who love each other like He loves us and who are led by the Spirit of God.

Everyone will know that we are God’s disciples when we walk in fellowship with the Holy Spirit and each other.

Fellowship is the hallmark of the Kingdom. We are fellows. We’re all in the same position, engaged in the same mission: Loving the lost into the Kingdom and loving them until the end.

God spoke to me yesterday. One of the things He said that stuck with me was, “How can you go wrong if you love one another?”

Love one another. What’s the worst that could happen? What’s the best?

Forgive or encourage.

Leave the results in God’s hands. Besides, He’s the One doing all the work anyways. We’re just witnesses.

Obedience is better than sacrifice. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

It is finished. And yet, we still walk out the fulfillment of every promise that God has spoken. His Kingdom is coming. His Kingdom is here. His Kingdom will never be shaken.

Walk in victory, Church. Your King will never leave you nor forsake you. Blessed be the Name of the Lord. Amen.

Lord, lead us to love other people like You do. Let us be Your redemptive army of believers, reconciling people back to God in Christ. Amen.

‭‭Before the Passover festival, Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go back to the Father. Jesus loved his own who were in the world, and he loved them to the end.
