Reflected Glory

If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see?

And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.

‭‭1 John 4:20-21 NLT‬‬

The Lord Jesus Christ demonstrated for us what true love is in the eyes of the Father.

He lived in perfect fellowship with the Father. He only did what He saw the Father doing. He loved people. He only said what He heard the Father saying. He spoke the truth in love.

Are we to do anything less if we call ourselves the children of God?

Sure, this is impossible for humans in their own effort and ability. That is why God sent the Holy Spirit to give us abundant life. When we partner with God and live the life of God in the flesh, like Jesus did, we will do what Jesus did.

There’s no greater love than laying down one’s life for their friends. Jesus did it for us. Now, we can lay down our lives, pick up His Life and finish the task at hand.

Jesus is coming back for a pure and spotless Bride. Are we ready? Do we accurately reflect the glory of the Lord?

We love because He first loved us. Live in His love.

Love one another. Speak the truth in love. Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Be like Jesus. He gave you the power to do so.

Father in Heaven, forgive Your Children of their sins as we forgive those who have sinned against us. We plead the blood of Jesus over everyone. Free Your People from idolatry and willful disobedience. Break the chains of enslavement to sin. Redeem us, God, from the curse. In the Name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.
