The greatest among you must be a servant.
Matthew 23:11 NLT
There are two different ways to be a leader. One is to imitate Satan. The other is to imitate Christ.
They say that leadership is influence, and that’s correct. However, we can be influencing people to follow Jesus or to follow something else. We must be careful how we lead and know why God has called us to be leaders.
We’ve all heard about influencers on the Internet. Why do they do what they do? To make money. Why do false prophets and false teachers do what they do? To make money. Why do corporations do what they do? To make money.
In the Kingdom of God, we do things differently. We serve God. We are not slaves to money. Money is a tool, not our god.
God owns everything that He created, including us. We created money to aid in the exchange of goods and services when bartering was insufficient to get the job done.
Society at large has lost sight of their original purpose and design. We are intended to be a loving community that takes care of one another.
God establishes leaders in communities to watch out, like a good shepherd would, for danger and things that would upset the fabric of society. Our worldly leaders have let us down. We should pray for them more.
I like to say that leaders are the chief servants. Jesus modelled this for us. He humbled Himself and took the form of a servant. He did not imitate the customs of the religious leaders of His day. He was a daybreaker. He illuminated a new path forward: being led by the Spirit of God.
As spiritual leaders, our job is to model, teach and encourage people to have a real relationship with our Heavenly Father. Follow Jesus. Do what He tells you to do. That’s my message.
Don’t be like the world. They rule by command and control. The devil enslaves people to sin and religious legalism. He’ll do anything he can to deceive you from living the abundant life found in walking with Christ.
The devil is defeated. The Law has been fulfilled. Christ has come. Christ is ascended. The Holy Spirit has come. We are all equal in God. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. Let’s follow Jesus together as the Holy Spirit leads us to.
We are the Body of Christ. Jesus is the Head of the Church.
You can hear His voice and obey it! That’s being a disciple. Now, go. And make disciples that do the same thing.
Father in Heaven, free us from the lies we’ve believed. Eliminate deception in the Body of Christ. Lead us by Your Holy Spirit. In the Name of the Risen Christ we pray. Amen
I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.
You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father.
Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!
