“If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.”
John 14:15-16 NLT
God is love. When we love, we partner with God in expressing the divine nature of God.
Simply love, in obedience to God’s command, and leave the results up to God.
The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith.
But some people have missed this whole point. They have turned away from these things and spend their time in meaningless discussions.
1 Timothy 1:5-6 NLT
If you’re filled with love, God will lead you to express your faith by loving others. So refresh yourself in God’s love by being in fellowship with other believers who love God and one another. That’s Christian community. We are healed in community.
Love is the most powerful force in the universe. It does the impossible. It rescues sinners from their sin.
When we walk in grace and love towards those who don’t deserve it, it demonstrates that the love of God is real. It can be seen. It can be felt. The Holy Spirit inspires us to do what God wants. God wants sinners reconciled back into friendly relationships with their Creator through Jesus Christ.
Love covers a multitude of sins. Let’s love one another and leave the judgment, fear, guilt and condemnation where it belongs, nailed to the Cross.
Father God, we thank You for loving us so much that You sent Your Son to bear the penalty we deserved. Thank You for the blood of Jesus which covers all our sins. Let us walk in freedom and holiness by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Revive our hearts again. Let us be the Body of Christ, reaching and touching the world with the power and love of Jesus. Amen.
We are witnesses of these things and so is the Holy Spirit, who is given by God to those who obey him.
