Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God.
1 John 4:15 NASB2020
If you were accused of a crime and confessed, you would be admitting what you know to be true.
Confession is a statement of truth.
You can’t confess truth unless Truth is living in you. There are two spiritual forces that can influence humanity. One is the Father of Lies. One is the Spirit of Truth.
No one can believe in their heart and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord unless they know that to be true. You can’t know that unless God reveals the Truth to your heart. To know Truth is to know God. To know God is to have the Holy Spirit.
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”
Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him.
For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Romans 10:9-13 NLT
We live our lives in God and God lives His life in us. The Holy Spirit gives us the desire and the ability to say and do the things that God the Father desires to witness. When we walk in agreement with God, our Father is very pleased.
What does God want us to do? Love one another. What does the enemy want us to do? Anything but that.
How do we love well? I suggest starting with prayer. Pray for the people in your life, everyone you encounter. All it takes is a moment to pray silently for everyone you see. God will give you the next step of faith, if there is one. Prayer changes things. Prayer is the foundation of a relationship with God.
Pray for the salvation of the nations.
Father in Heaven, we bow before You in holy reverence of Your authority over all Creation. We ask that You would send the Holy Spirit to convict the world of their sins. Let repentance fill their hearts so that they can turn from the path of destruction to the path of eternal life. We pray that everyone has daily encounters with the Living God and ample opportunities to hear the message of the Gospel of Grace. Save us, O God, from ourselves and our self-destructive tendencies. Help us to see that we are all created in the image of God and that all people are loved by God. Help us to invite them into a loving relationship with their Creator God by giving us divine appointments to share the Good News and demonstrate the Kingdom of God with power. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. In the Name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
And God has given us his Spirit as proof that we live in him and he in us.
