Be My Disciple

‭When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor — sick people do.”

Matthew 9:12 NLT‬

We’re in a state of emergency. There’s a lost generation in desperate need of being found in Christ.

Jesus is sending first responders to the scene. We call this outreach or mission. It’s the practice of addressing felt needs in the local community and offering assistance free of charge in the spirit of brotherly love.

The sick don’t need condemnation, they need help. They need mercy.

The Lord sends His humble servants out as search and rescue teams. When they find a hurting soul, they triage the situation and stabilize the patient.

Do you need a Savior?

Do you need a Healer?

Do you need a Deliverer?

Do you need a kind word to encourage your soul to keep going one more day in this dark and lonely world?

Whatever the problem is, there is a cure. His Name is Jesus.

Now, you may not think of yourself as a missionary but it’s time that you prepare yourself to.

It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do or where you live, you can be trained and equipped to become competent and confident in allowing the Spirit of God to use you to minister to others in your sphere of influence.

Some people are generalists, some are specialists. Irregardless of God’s calling on your life, you can be taught to make disciples of Jesus. We call this the Great Commission and all believers are invited to participate.

We need disciplemakers who have the heart of God towards others to mentor the next generation of leaders. The opportunity is enormous. The need is unmistakable. We simply need to be humble souls that are willing to lay our lives down to be the hands and feet and mouthpieces of Jesus.

Be salt. Be light. Be confident that whatever you do with Christ at the helm will not go unnoticed nor unrewarded in Heaven.

Thank God in every circumstance. We’re not here for ourselves. The purpose of life isn’t to live in comfort and ease and fulfill all our carnal desires. Quite the opposite, we’re here to serve God. We’re here to be the Body of Christ. It doesn’t matter where you fellowship, we are One people. We’re all on Team Jesus.

The world is ripe for harvest. Is the Church responding? You are the church, if you have the Holy Spirit. Rise up and walk and touch the lives around you with a word, with a gesture, with the Truth.

This is the moment where we can no longer afford to be passive observers. Be equipped. And go. Satan doesn’t take a day off. How can we afford to be idle? How can we afford to worship idols?

Let me lead you, says the Spirit of the Living God. I will show you where to go and who to talk to. I will put My words in your mouth. I will work miracles of healing and deliverance to confirm My message. I am the Way. I am the Truth. I am the Life. Repent and follow Me. Today we go into the darkness and bring the Light. This is the way forward. Be kind to those who oppose Me.

Lord, lead us and guide us by Your Spirit. Amen.

‭Then he added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”

Matthew 9:13 NLT‬
