So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.”
For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.
Romans 8:15-16 NLT
No longer slaves to our sinful nature, we have been adopted and set free by the grace of God.
Now, we walk in eternal, loving fellowship with the Spirit of God.
We are the children of God. God is Our Father.
For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord — who is the Spirit — makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18 NLT
We are united in the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is what makes us members of Christ’s Body.
Christ unites us in Himself. We are One people, with One Leader, One Teacher, One Father who is in all, through all, and for all.
It’s not about rules and regulations anymore. It’s about prayer. It’s about abiding. It’s about having a never ending conversation with God and walking through life with Him as your Father who teaches you the family business — the business of loving people into the Kingdom and walking with them to maturity.
Father in Heaven, renew our thoughts and attitudes by the Holy Spirit. Adjust our outlooks and expectations based on Your specific will for our individual lives. Free us from the mindset of religious thinking and carnal mindedness which lead to death. Instead of thoughts based on the world and the flesh, let our thoughts be on the Spirit. Renew our minds, O God, and let our lives be transformed forever. Amen.
For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.
So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.
