If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.
1 John 1:10 NLT
If we claim we have not sinned, then we are liars.
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
Romans 3:23 NLT
We’re getting there, but we fall short.
My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.
1 John 2:1 NLT
The Gospel is Good News. The Good News is that God’s love for us is not dependent on our performance. Jesus already paid the price that our sins deserved. We can freely receive forgiveness simply by getting honest and confessing our sins.
The devil wants to drag you through the mud. He wants you to be a mud slinger. Don’t fall for it. Don’t fall for the trap of unforgiveness. Forgive others as freely as Christ has forgiven you.
This world is an evil place. People do terrible things.
God forgave us all, even when we were still His enemies. So pray for your enemies. Pray for the enemies of the Cross. Perhaps God will remove their spiritual blindness and they too will be given the gift of faith.
Trust God, love people.
Eternity is a really long time. Do you really think anyone should be forever separated from the presence of God? I’m not going to make that judgment.
Judgment belongs to the Lord. He knows who loves Him deep down inside. He knows who hates Him as well. He’ll decide on Judgment Day who He wants to hang out with for eternity and who is not invited.
Our job is simple. Confess, and keep on confessing. Forgive, and keep on forgiving. Keep your slate clean. You’re responsible for your choices, nobody else’s.
Face the music. We’re not perfect. Nobody is. Except for the One who saves us. Thank God for Our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
For his unfailing love for us is powerful; the Lord’s faithfulness endures forever. Praise the Lord!
