I Will Revive You Again

‭Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Matthew 11:29 NLT‬

God invites us to come to Him by faith and to remain in Him. He invites us to walk with Him by faith by keeping in step with the Spirit.

How do you do that?

You yoke yourself to Christ. You yoke yourself to the Holy Spirit. The two of you walk together as one.

It’s a daily submission to the Lordship of Christ. It’s a moment by moment encounter with the Living God. It’s called fellowship with God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.

Because the Holy Spirit lives in us, we have eternal life and we have direct access to God Himself. We don’t need an intermediary to tell us what God is saying because we can converse with Him directly through our spirits.

When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths.

But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.

Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others.

For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?”

But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.

‭1 Corinthians 2:13-16 NLT‬

As you’re yoked to Christ, He will teach you everything. Since He’s a humble and gentle Teacher, you will find rest for your soul. He won’t abuse you.

The Holy Spirit is not a conceited and abusive teacher. He will only lead you to do the will of God the Father and He will glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, not the flesh.

Practice discernment. People who are not being led by the Holy Spirit are not going to reflect God’s nature. Review Galatians 5 to better discern what is of the Spirit and what is of the carnal nature.

If you’re feeling convicted, repent to holiness. God will forgive you. Think of how many times Israel abandoned God and yet He relentlessly pursued them. We are no different. All of us like sheep have gone astray and yet the Good Shepherd hunts us down to return us to safety. Trust that God loves you!

I will revive you again, says the Lord. Now, listen to Me and do what I say.

Father in Heaven, we rejoice in our salvation. Now, we humble ourselves under Your mighty hand and submit to Your Lordship once again. Lead us and guide us, O Lord Almighty. Amen.

‭If we live by the Spirit, let’s follow the Spirit as well.
