Hold On

‭Love is to be sincere and active [the real thing — without guile and hypocrisy]. Hate what is evil [detest all ungodliness, do not tolerate wickedness]; hold on tightly to what is good.

Romans 12:9 AMP‬

God is stirring up the world, like a finger in a drinking glass. Hold on to God, not the things of this world.

If you cling to God in His activity, it will seem as if you are doing nothing and going nowhere.

However, as you cling to Him, as if He’s the finger stirring the drink, the world around you will dissolve into chaos and manic activity — a veritable whirlwind of insanity and ungodliness.

God is removing our desires for worldly things. He’s removing our attachments to sin. He’s causing us to see things from His perspective, not our own.

If you’re clinging to worldly things and worldly desires, you’ll find yourself on a very bumpy ride. Somewhat akin to being in a rock tumbler, you’ll never know up from down, left from right. All you’ll know is you’re constantly being hit from every angle.

There is no rest for the wicked. There is no security in the things of this world. Remember, this world is temporary. Christ is the only firm foundation to build your life upon.

More activity does not bear fruit. Abiding with Christ does.

‭Remain in Me, and I [will remain] in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] unless you remain in Me.

John 15:4 AMP‬

Hold on to what is good. Hold on to God. Cling to Christ. He is the One who saves us. He is the One who leads us. Let Christ lead your soul into its full redemption. Let God Himself make and keep you holy. Only God can do that. We simply submit to His plan.

Our Father in Heaven, give us unshakeable faith in You and what You’re doing. Sanctify us and make us holy as You are holy. We submit to Your will for our lives. Remove our attachments to the things of this world, let them have no power any longer to tempt us into sin. We dedicate ourselves afresh to following the Lord Jesus. Lead us, Lord, in the Name of Christ. Amen.

‭And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].
