Surrendered Ears

‭I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways.

Psalms 85:8 NLT‬

There’s a choice that we make everyday. What will we listen to? Who will we listen to?

Will we listen to the voice of the world? Or will we listen to the voice of God?

Will we give ear to lies? Or will we turn our attention to the Truth?

There is One who cannot lie. There is One who always speaks what is true. Listen to Him. Listen carefully.

The Holy Spirit is the voice of Truth. If you are attentive to hearing Him speak, you can know the perfect will of God for your life, daily.

Let’s practice hearing God speak, together.

Simply quiet your mind. Focus your attention on loving God and expectantly hope to hear from Him. He loves you. He wants to fellowship with you daily.

Now, pray. Pray earnestly. Pour out your heart to God. Let Him know how you really feel. Let Him know what you really think. He already knows but He enjoys hearing you confess the truth.

Then, once you have nothing left to say, be still. Be silent. Rest in His Presence.

Then, ask Him a question and listen. You’ll hear His voice in your spirit. It’s like a still, small voice. It sounds like your thoughts in your head, but it’s His voice registering in your mental receptors. He can speak directly to your mind because you have the mind of Christ.

Ask Him who He says that you are.

Ask Him why He created you.

Ask Him what He thinks about you.

Ask Him who He wants you to love today.

Ask Him what’s next.

Don’t forget to write down what He says. God will guide you in your journey of faith in Him all the days of your life.

You simply need to surrender your ears to Him.

Father in Heaven, we want to know You. We want to hear Your voice speak to us. We want to be led by the Holy Spirit all day, everyday. We surrender our lives, our hearts, our ears and our eyes to You to be used to do Your will here on Earth. Fill us, O God, with Your Love and Your Truth. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit. Let us be the surrendered ones of God, doing Your will to bring glory to Your Name. In the Name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
