From Glory To Glory

Many were possessed by demons; and the demons came out at his command, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But because they knew he was the Messiah, he rebuked them and refused to let them speak.

Luke 4:41 NLT

In this day and age, we are still witnessing the same things that occurred when the Kingdom of God was first established here on Earth.

Jesus came announcing that the Kingdom of God was at hand. He preached the Good News of the Kingdom. He also demonstrated the power and authority of the Kingdom by healing the sick, raising the dead and casting out demons.

He taught His disciples to do what He did.

On the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was given to the disciples, and the Church was born. The Body of Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit, set apart from the world to do the will of the Father, was empowered and given authority to be carriers of the Kingdom of God here on Earth.

There is nothing new under the sun. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. God is immutable. He doesn’t change. We do — from glory to glory.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. But we all, with unveiled faces, looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 NASB2020

The Spirit of God is leading His Church. We go and do what the Holy Spirit inspires us to do. We say what the Holy Spirit inspires us to say. The Church builds itself up in love as the Body ministers unto itself at the Spirit’s leading. This is the Kingdom of God in action.

Now we know that there are many who are oppressed or possessed by demons, even those who attend services with us. It was the same in the days of Jesus’ earthly ministry.

Once when he was in the synagogue, a man possessed by a demon — an evil spirit — cried out, shouting, “Go away! Why are you interfering with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are — the Holy One of God!”

But Jesus reprimanded him. “Be quiet! Come out of the man,” he ordered. At that, the demon threw the man to the floor as the crowd watched; then it came out of him without hurting him further.

Amazed, the people exclaimed, “What authority and power this man’s words possess! Even evil spirits obey him, and they flee at his command!”

The news about Jesus spread through every village in the entire region.

Luke 4:33-37 NLT

It is given to us to carry on the ministry of Jesus here on Earth. How did Jesus do ministry? He only did what He saw the Father doing. He only said what He heard the Father saying.

When did He see and hear those things? When He went away to be alone to pray to the Father. Everyday, Jesus spent quality time with the Father to be guided prophetically into the next.

God is leading us into a new dimension of power and authority in the Church. It’s everywhere. It’s for everyone who has a relationship with God. Compassion is what fuels it. Love is at hand. The Kingdom is now.

Father in Heaven, be glorified in Your Body of believers. Show Yourself strong as we declare Your Word and do Your will, day by day. In the Name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

As the sun went down that evening, people throughout the village brought sick family members to Jesus. No matter what their diseases were, the touch of his hand healed every one.
