The Next Generation

We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders.

Psalms 78:4 NLT

What are we telling the next generation about the Lord? Do we testify about His power? Or are we silent?

The next generation is our collective future. How are they doing? How has the world we’ve created impacted their souls for better or worse? Are we equipping them to be successful in life and ministry, in walking with the Lord?

The next generation will inherit the results of our devotion or lack thereof to God. What kind of example are we providing them to learn from?

Ultimately, we are responsible for our own choices. Our choices shape the future and impact the generations to come. Let’s make good choices. Let’s choose to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Can I get an amen?

Father in Heaven, forgive us of all of our sins. Forgive everyone who was a bad example, who did not abide in love. Let us walk in newness of life, constantly being transformed and renewed by the Spirit of God. Let us be ambassadors of grace and truth, yielding every kind of good fruit in season. In the Name of Christ Jesus we pray. Amen.

So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands. Then they will not be like their ancestors — stubborn, rebellious, and unfaithful, refusing to give their hearts to God.
