However, you are not [living] in the flesh [controlled by the sinful nature] but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God lives in you [directing and guiding you]. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him [and is not a child of God].
Romans 8:9 AMP
Apart from Me, you can do nothing.
“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.”
Matthew 7:21 NLT
Understand that there’s a difference between doing for God and walking with God.
Oftentimes, we find ourselves doing something for God that He has not asked us to do. We think we’re doing God’s will, but instead we’re being presumptuous. In our own foolishness, we do what we think is appropriate instead of remaining in communion with the Holy Spirit and following His lead.
“On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’”
Matthew 7:22 NLT
There is power in the Name of Jesus.
“But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’”
Matthew 7:23 NLT
Jesus said, “Follow Me.”
He sent the Holy Spirit to make that possible.
Apart from the Holy Spirit, we can do nothing.
Father in Heaven, lead Your Church by Your Spirit for Your glory. In the Name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’”
