This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he was accurately speaking and teaching things about Jesus, being acquainted only with the baptism of John; and he began speaking boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained the way of God more accurately to him.
Acts 18:25-26 NASB2020
There is a way of life and there is a way of death.
The way of life is the way of the Lord — doing the will of God the Father.
The way of life is following Jesus. The way of death is following anyone or anything other than Jesus. Who is your highest authority? That is your god.
He said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”
And they said to him, “On the contrary, we have not even heard if there is a Holy Spirit.”
And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?”
And they said, “Into John’s baptism.”
Paul said, “John baptized with a baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
And when Paul had laid hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them and they began speaking with tongues and prophesying.
Acts 19:2-6 NASB2020
The baptism of John is a sign that one has repented from dead works. The baptism of the Holy Spirit empowers us to bear fruit in keeping with repentance.
Jesus was buried in the waters of baptism. When He was raised up again, the Spirit descended upon Him and remained. That is the pattern for discipleship — die to the world and live in Christ.
Hear and obey the Spirit of the Lord and you will be blessed. Walk with the Lord daily and experience the abundant life. The way of Christ, obeying the Father, is the way of eternal life. Live today and forever in the light of the Lord.
I am writing these things to warn you about those who want to lead you astray.
But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true — it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.
And now, dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame.
1 John 2:26-28 NLT
God’s will is done on Earth as we obey the Holy Spirit. Just walk it out. There’s nothing to brag about. It’s simply a way of life that yields a harvest of righteousness.
Father in Heaven, baptize the Body of Believers, Your Church, the Bride of Christ, with the Holy Spirit. Send workers out into Your harvest. Bring us to oneness with Christ and each other, according to Your will. Bring us all to full maturity in Christ, in the Name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Since we know that Christ is righteous, we also know that all who do what is right are God’s children.
