King Of Heaven

“And anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.”

John 3:36 NLT

It’s easy to say that we believe, but our actions reveal what’s in our hearts. Believing in Jesus as Lord and Messiah means that we obey Him as Lord and accept Him as Savior.

When we first believe the truth of the Gospel we are born again. We go from spiritually dead to alive in Christ. This new birth comes from the Holy Spirit.

Jesus replied, “I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.”

John 3:5-6 NLT

Life in the Spirit is simply a matter of trusting in Jesus, listening to the Holy Spirit and obeying the will of Our Father.

Jesus is the King of Heaven. He came to Earth to demonstrate what it means to live as the Son of God in a fallen world. He gives us the same ability to live as sons and daughters of God when we believe and receive the Holy Spirit.

He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him.

He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.

They are reborn — not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.

John 1:10-13 NLT

The Spirit works within us to mold us and make us Christlike. The fire of God purifies us by burning away all the unfruitful areas of our lives. This pleases God, to make us like His firstborn Son.

Now that we know God, isn’t it time that we walk with Him? Since God has made Himself known, isn’t it time that we talk with Him? Since Christ is Lord, shouldn’t we abide in Him?

How do we abide? We obey Him.

Remain in My Love.

When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.

John 15:10 NLT

Lord God in Heaven, have mercy on us. Reveal to us the Son of God as Lord to our hearts. We submit to the Lordship of Christ Jesus, the Head of His Church. May we obey Your every word and inclination. May Your Spirit guide our hearts into the fullness of Your love. Amen.

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
