If we live by the Spirit, let’s follow the Spirit as well.
Galatians 5:25 NASB2020
When Jesus walked the Earth, He said, “Follow Me.”
Walk with Me, talk with Me, learn from Me, and do what I teach. This is the Way to become a mature disciple of the Master.
Now that He lives inside of us, how do we follow Him?
Do not stifle the Holy Spirit.
1 Thessalonians 5:19 NLT
The Law of Moses was fulfilled in Christ Jesus. Then, He nailed the Law of sin and death to the Cross. We are no longer under a schoolmaster. The Spirit has been given to all who believe.
Jesus ratified a New Covenant with His flesh and blood. If there is a New Covenant, that means the Old Covenant no longer applies. There is no obligation, except to love, which is what the Spirit of God is always doing.
We simply need to abide in Christ. Let the Spirit lead you and you will not sin. How could the Holy Spirit lead someone to do something unholy? That’s impossible.
Abiding means dwelling together. When the Holy Spirit takes up residence in our bodies, we become united with the Lord Jesus Christ and God the Father. We are in fellowship with the Godhead. Allow Him to do your decision making. It yields the best fruit everytime.
There is no Law that says do this and don’t do that anymore. Follow the Spirit’s leading, the lead of love, and you’ll always do what’s necessary and appropriate.
Let’s clothe ourselves in Christ. Let the whole world see your good works, inspired by the Spirit who lives within you — the One who will never leave you nor forsake you.
Holy Spirit, lead the Church. Amen.
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.
