Faith Works

Yes indeed, it is good when you obey the royal law as found in the Scriptures: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

James 2:8 NLT

The Father is no respecter of persons. What does that mean? It means God doesn’t play favorites. He treats everyone equally without respect to their social status, wealth, ability, appearance or any other distinguishing factor.

We’re all the same in God’s eyes. We’re human.

Then Peter started speaking: “I now truly understand that God does not show favoritism in dealing with people, but in every nation the person who fears him and does what is right is welcomed before him.”

Acts 10:34-35 NET

When Christ commands us to love one another as He loves us, He’s not discriminatory either. He goes so far as to say love your enemies and prove that you are children of the Father.

Obeying God is simple. Love everyone equally. Why do we have a problem with that? Because there’s wickedness in our hearts. Purge the evil from among yourselves. Repent of favoritism. Repent of partiality.

Whose job is it to judge? Certainly not mine. There’s only one fair Judge and His Name is Jesus. He waits until we’re dead to judge us according to our works.

Whose job is it to love? The believers. The world doesn’t know what love is because they don’t know God. How will they possibly learn? Only by witnessing it, experiencing it, and seeing it demonstrated without partiality. Go and sin no more.

Father, revive our hearts to do Your will. May we love as Christ loves. Amen.

For just as the [human] body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works [of obedience] is also dead.

James 2:26 AMP
