My dear brothers and sisters, if someone among you wanders away from the truth and is brought back, you can be sure that whoever brings the sinner back from wandering will save that person from death and bring about the forgiveness of many sins.
James 5:19-20 NLT
What has God laid on your heart to do?
Who has God laid on your heart?
Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.
Galatians 6:1 NLT
We are all like sheep. We wander off. We get stuck in the mud. Someone needs to come rescue us from our folly from time to time.
We need each other, to watch out for each other. This is God’s design for keeping us all on the right path.
Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises.
Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord.
Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.
James 5:13-16 NLT
God’s people love one another. Sometimes, that means going and looking for wandering sheep and restoring them to the sheepfold.
I encourage you today, ask God who He wants you to reach out to. Then, obey God and go love His children, your brothers and sisters in the Lord.
We can’t do this on our own. The Body is incomplete if even one person is missing.
Father in Heaven, lead us in Your love to those who are lost, hurting and broken. Help us to restore wandering believers in a spirit of gentleness and humility. Let our prayers of faith heal the broken-hearted and place them in families of faith. Restore to us those who are missing. In the Name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.
