Growing In Godliness

“Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.”

1 Timothy 4:8 NLT

We are made to worship. I wish that we would all worship the Lord with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength. That’s my will. I believe that’s also God’s will.

When we align ourselves with God’s will, through agreeing in prayer and obedience, in word and deed, we become the hands, feet and mouthpieces for the Holy Spirit to move in this fallen world.

Dear friends, I am not writing a new commandment for you; rather it is an old one you have had from the very beginning. This old commandment — to love one another — is the same message you heard before.

Yet it is also new. Jesus lived the truth of this commandment, and you also are living it. For the darkness is disappearing, and the true light is already shining.

1 John 2:7-8 NLT

Growing in godliness is fruitful in this life and in the life to come. Worldliness, sin and the carnal nature besmirch our present. In the future, they will all disappear. We will become just like Jesus. Why not endeavor to be more like Him today and everyday?

Partnering with Christ is how we grow in godliness. Jesus always obeys the Father. We have free will. We can choose to follow Jesus by the Holy Spirit’s leading.

When we love one another, we are obeying God’s royal commandment. The Kingdom of God is where God rules and reigns. The Kingdom of God is inside you. Let love rule and reign in your hearts, and you will do the things that please God.

Let us all grow and mature in the Lord.

Father in Heaven, we yield ourselves to be used by You for Your purposes here on Earth. Fill us with Your love, Your wisdom and Your power so that we can do the things that bring You glory. Amen.

The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers.

Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.
