The Shepherd’s Flock

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Psalm 23:1 ESV

Who is your shepherd? Who guides you? Who provides for you? Who protects you from evil?

If the Lord is your shepherd, you know that He takes care of everything. You simply need to walk with Him and listen to His voice, obeying His instructions for you in the moment.

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

John 10:27 NLT

If you don’t trust God, then you’ll look for something or someone else to follow. Don’t follow people or their philosophies, follow Jesus.

This life is too short to be wasted on idolatry. Idolatry is the worship of idols. Idols are powerless to save you. They cannot preserve your soul beyond the grave. Only Jesus saves.

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

Psalms 23:4 NLT

God’s with us. He is not hidden or unapproachable. He makes Himself known. He comes to dwell within us by the Holy Spirit. Your Shepherd is always with you. Rely on Him, for everything. Everything belongs to God. Even your very soul. So trust Him. He’s got this.

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalms 23:6 NLT

Lord God, we recognize Jesus as the Savior and Shepherd, the guardian of our souls. We yield to the Lordship of Christ, trusting God for everything. Have Your way with us, O God. We know that You are a good God and Your love never fails. Be glorified in us. Amen.

“After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t know his voice.”
