Before the world was formed, God loved you and chose you to be His child.
He did this because it brought Him great pleasure to save you through Jesus Christ.
God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.
Ephesians 1:5 NLT
We who believe are all one family in Christ Jesus. There is one Father and one Lord. We are all His children. Let’s love one another like family.
He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.
Ephesians 1:7 NLT
Our salvation is a gift from God. It was His plan all along. We simply receive the gift with grateful hearts and joy and peace spring forth from ours.
Have you been forgiven? Then praise the Lord. Do the people in your life need to be forgiven? Then forgive. Extend the same grace, mercy and love that you have received from Christ to others.
Before the world was made, you were chosen to be holy and without fault in God’s eyes. How is that possible? Only through the blood of Jesus. His blood cleanses us, all of us, of our sins. Let’s not forget that. Be the new creation in Christ that He created you to be. His Spirit makes it possible.
Father in Heaven, thank You for Your grace and mercy. Thank You for choosing us from before the world was formed for salvation. Thank You for the blood of Jesus which satisfies the penalty for sin that we owed. We have been freed by You to live with You forever. Fill our hearts with Your love and our mouths with Your truth. Use us to bring in Your harvest for Your glory. Amen.
Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.
