Go Back To The Heart

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

John 13:34-35 NASB2020

Jesus showed us the perfect way to teach disciples.

Love them.

Model the lifestyle that you want them to learn and adopt as their own.

Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

John 13:1 ESV

Love them to the very end. Stick with them until they get it. Then, continue to walk with them, encouraging them to stay faithful to the Lord and His teachings.

The Kingdom of God is family. We’re all God’s children. We’re all brothers and sisters. Family sticks together no matter what. We know each other and accept each other, flaws and all. There’s no deciding if someone belongs in the family because we’re all related by blood. We’ve all been redeemed by the blood of Jesus.

“Now I am departing from the world; they are staying in this world, but I am coming to you. Holy Father, you have given me your name; now protect them by the power of your name so that they will be united just as we are. During my time here, I protected them by the power of the name you gave me. I guarded them so that not one was lost, except the one headed for destruction, as the Scriptures foretold.”

John 17:11-12 NLT

Loving one another means protecting one another. Intercede for each other. Pray that God would not let us enter into temptation.

Let us have the heart of Jesus. Let us go back to the heart of God and love one another as Jesus loves us.

The Creator is greater than the creation. The giver of the gifts is greater than the gifts. There is only One who is worthy of all of our worship and praise. Let’s worship Him with our lives, and love one another the way God intended.

It’s time to go back to the heart.
