God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?
Numbers 23:19 NLT
Men can lie. God cannot.
God is faithful and true. He never breaks His promises. He always does what He says.
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will do it.
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 NASB2020
God chooses us for salvation. It is His will. It has nothing to do with our merit. If God saved you, it’s because He wanted to save you. There’s nothing you can do to earn your salvation. Be freed from a works mentality.
If God chose you for salvation, it means He also chose you for sanctification. He wants to make you holy, set apart, and blameless. He wants to make you perfect, mature, and Christlike in character. That’s God’s will for your life. He will do it.
We either cooperate with God or resist God.
We either walk in fellowship and obedience to the Lord or we sin. Sin is missing the mark. Let’s not do that.
Sin is no longer our master. Before we knew God personally, we lived in darkness. We didn’t have a choice. We were powerless to overcome our innate sinful nature.
Now that we know God and believe in His Son, we have been set free. We have been given new life. Our spirits have come alive and we are joined with the Lord in the Spirit. God makes us one with Himself through Christ.
Christ is the faithful One. He never disobeys the Father. He is the One who is saving and sanctifying the people of God in this hour. Our role is simply to cooperate with the leading of the Holy Spirit. Trust God. He won’t lead you astray.
You can relax now. Rest. God’s in charge of this process. His timeline is perfect. One day at a time, live in His grace, trust in His love and walk in fellowship with your Creator.
God’s love is enough. He is the Faithful One. Let Him lead you today.
Prayer Points
- Thank God for His faithfulness.
- Ask God to remove all unbelief from your heart and mind.
- Give God your praise for all that He is doing.
Faithful One, our Father in Heaven, we give You all the glory and praise. We thank You for saving us. We thank You for sanctifying us. We give You our full permission to remove anything and everything from our lives that is not pleasing to You. Give us clean hands. Give us pure hearts. Let us not lift our souls to another. You alone are God. You alone are worthy of our devotion. Forgive us for our wayward hearts and restore us to the path of life everlasting. Amen.
For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us.
Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever.
So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.
