Consider The Farmer

Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen.

James 5:7 NLT

I asked the Lord today what He was trying to teach us. He said, “Patience.”

Patience is the ability to wait with joy and expectant hope. It is a fruit of the Spirit’s activity in your life.

It’s the ability to wait without losing your peace. Stay connected to the vine. Don’t lose sight of why you’re here.

We’re all waiting for the Lord’s return. The signs of the times are all pointing in that direction. But first, before we all go home, there is a harvest that needs to come in.

The harvest is ripening. People are hungry for truth and love. What we have in Jesus, share freely with others. Whether they know Him or not, share love. Share truth. Speak the truth in love. No one in their right mind can resist God’s grace. Don’t judge by outward appearances. You don’t know what people are going through. You don’t know what they’ve been through. But we know the truth. Jesus is the answer to everything that ails us.

Be patient my friends. Jesus is coming back. Wait expectantly. Wait with hope. Abide in peace. Abide in love. This world is temporary. Why be overly concerned about things that perish? Stay focused on the eternal.

Prayer Points

  • Ask God to give you more grace to wait patiently.
  • Pray for all the saints that they would abide in love.
  • Ask God to give you wisdom to discern what is of Him and what is not.

You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.
