Get The Word Out

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Matthew 9:36 NLT

Last night, the Holy Spirit gave me some instructions. He told me to write them down. This morning, when I looked at them, I was glad I obeyed because I had already forgotten what He said.

He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”

Matthew 9:37-38 NLT

He told me to pray for divine intervention in the city where I live. This includes praying for miracles, signs and wonders. He told me to get the word out.

So here we are.

Jesus told His disciples to pray that the Lord would send more workers into the harvest fields. Then, He empowered them and sent them out.

“Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”

Matthew 10:7 NLT

They were sent as Jesus was. With the power to cast out demons, heal the sick and raise the dead. That makes for effective evangelistic efforts!

“Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!”

Matthew 10:8 NLT

I’ve been healed and delivered of my demons by God so I know this is real. I’ve prayed and witnessed people be miraculously healed by God. I’ve cast out demons from people and seen them restored to their right minds so I know this works.

When we preach the Gospel, we need to demonstrate the Kingdom. When I consider what ails my city, people need to be touched by the power of God.

If we want to see a move of God in our city, we need to be praying that God moves. God loves to answer prayers that are according to His will.

He told me to pray for divine intervention in my city. Clearly, He wants to come and move in power. I invite you to start praying similarly for wherever you live. Expect God to show up in His timing.

Prayer Points

  • Pray for divine intervention in your city.
  • Pray for miracles, signs and wonders.
  • Pray for word to get out to be praying for your city.

And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned.

“These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”

And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.

Mark 16:15-18, 20 NLT
